The High Houses are proposed as part of the reconstruction of Sarajevo after the siege of the city that lasted from 1992 though late 1995. Their site is the badly damaged “old tobacco factory” in the Marijn dvor section near the city center.

The houses rise up high into the airspace once occupied by falling mortar and artillery shells fired by the city’s besiegers in the surrounding mountains. By occupying the airspace, the High Houses reclaim it for the people of the city. Balancing on scavenged steel beams welded end-to-end, they are spaces of a new beginning for Sarajevo, one that challenges—in physical terms—the city’s past and present, aiming at a future uniquely Sarajevan. Stabilized by steel cables anchored to the site, the houses, poised like catapults, fulfill the paradoxical desire to fly and at the same time be rooted in their place of origin.

MAP (Manual of Architectural Possibilities) is a publication aiming to merge the fields of science and research on one hand, and architectural design on the other.

The publication exemplifies this approach via it's format. MAP presents itself as a folded A1, with only two pages. Research and data on one page, and architectural projects on the other.
Each issue deals with a single subject, sometimes abstract, sometimes concrete, which is placed under scrutiny through the collection of data and research from multiple perspectives. The architectural projects are a direct response to the research, sometimes pragmatic, sometimes critical or even ironic. No design is undertaken until the research phase is complete, which lasts about 3 months.
MAP aims to exercise architecture in the realm of speculation, through the boundaries and directions set by research and investigations, carried out into a series of fields and themes with direct spatial implications. and investigations, carried out into a series of fields and themes with direct spatial implications.

Mikro/Makro

4 Kasım Cuma
Eski slayt kasetlerine mikro ölçekte çalışılan dokular neredeyse 100 kat büyüdüğünde olağanüstü örüntüler sergiledi. Metaleptiğin bayram öncesi Cuma dersi, küçük kasetleri doldurmakla ve izlemekle geçti.

Şarköy Balıkçı Dalyanları Sergisi Kuruldu

14-15-16 Ekim gezisinin ardınan iki haftalık bir çalışmayla hazırladığımız Şarköy'deki Balıkçı "daldır-çıkart"larına dair tespitlerimizin yer aldığı sergimiz kuruldu. 5 kişilik takımlar halinde hazırlanan ölçekli maketlerimiz, çizimlerimize eşlik eden kişisel izlenimlerin de yer aldığı sergi, bir sonraki işin sergisine kadar BIM koridorunda görülebilir.

5'er kişilik gruplar toplam 28 dalyan model-çizim-izlenim takımı geliştirdi. Bunlar sütunlar halinde düzenlendi.

3 Kasım Per. ve 4 Kasım Cuma dersleri

Herkese Merhaba,

3 Kasım 2011 Perşembe dersinde bir soru sorup bu soruya karşılık gelen durumlar üretmeye çalışacağız. Ders için çeşitli malzemeler getirmek gerekli. Farklı niteliklerde, her türlü malzeme kullanılabilir. Çöpten aramak, kullanılmayan şeyleri stüdyodan toplayıp geri dönüştürmek te işe yarar :)

Örneğin ip, iplik, tel, misina,...gibi lineer malzemeler, mukavva, asetat, naylon, gazete kağıdı, ambalaj kağıdı, streç film, sinek teli gibi yüzey malzemeler, lifli veya farklı yoğunluklu dokular: keten, ip türleri, üstüpü, pamuk ...vs.... ayrıca uhu, iğne, çivi vb. birleştirme şeyleri. [Maket bıçağı, gönye, makas, kayıt için fotoğraf makinesi gibi olmazsa olmazlar.... ]

(grup içinde veya dışında malzeme yardımlaşması mümkün.)

4 Kasım Cuma günü ise Mikro ve Makro arası geçişleri araştıran eğlenceli bir iş yapacağız.

Asetat, uhu, çeşitli renkte asetat kalemleri, taneli serpiştirilebilen organik veya inorganik malzemeler sizin hayal gücünüze kalıyor. Bir fikir vermek gerekirse mm. inceliğinde çalışılabilecek her türlü malzeme olur. saç teli, kum, ince boncuk, ölü hayvan dokusu, bitki parçası, toprak, lif, ekmek kırıntısı... ve daha aklınıza gelebilecek bir sürü şey... kayıt için fotoğraf makinesi de bulunsun. :)
